DIY Composite Deck

This client came to us needing guidance on how to demolish their deteriorated concrete porch and replace it with composite deck. DIY Connection helped find and select a contractor to demolish the existing porch. We then assisted the client with the deck design, permitting, execution. With our help, the client (who had limited experience) was able to construct this beautiful deck with his own hands.

Basement Finish

Our client purchased their home with a DIY basement finish that wasn't quite right. DIY Connection helped to correct the existing problems and manage the project from start to finish. Big tickets include adding a full bathroom and egress window. A lot of moving pieces on this one!

Workshop & Mancave

This client came to us ready to go with their own plans, they just needed to expertise to make it reality. A vital decision was made to use "timber framing", instead of tradition "stud framing." This not only saved the client money, but also allowed the project to be completed in time before winter.

Investment Rehab

Our services enabled the client to cut out a General Contractor and do most of the work themselves. We did a walk through of the entire property. The biggest concerns were adding a deck and upper level balcony, removing a load bearing wall, and repairing a few improperly notched floor joists. Within 24 hours we supplied the customer with a deck layout and materials list, calculations and recommendations for removing the load bearing wall, and detailed instructions of how and where to reinforce the compromised floor.
